The Detroit Red Wings lost goaltender Cam Talbot during yesterday's 5-4 OT loss to the Vancouver Canucks, and his latest status update has been released by the team.

The latest name added to the growing Detroit Red Wings' injury report is goaltender Cam Talbot, who suffered a lower-body injury against the Vancouver Canucks in yesterday's 5-4 overtime loss at Little Caesars Arena.

They're already without goaltender Alex Lyon, who was hurt during practice last week and won't be with the team for their road trip that begins tomorrow night against their divisional foe Boston Bruins (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).

Following practice today, coach Derek Lalonde offered the latest on Talbot's condition, saying that he's currently undergoing evaluations by medical staff.

Cam's being evaluated by a doctor this afternoon, so we'll get a little bit more feeling on where he's at. Probably a better feel in the morning.

Is there a chance that Talbot could join the Red Wings on the road trip?

Could be, depending on how the evaluation goes today.

Lalonde indicated that Talbot's injury took place several minutes before he removed himself from the game at 6:38 of the second period following Alex DeBrincat's game-tying goal.

It's hard to say, optimistic in the fact that he was able to get an extra 2-3 minutes after tweaking it, and then obviously walking around today.

But he'll get an image of it, and we'll get a better feel.

In Talbot's stead, the Red Wings have called up highly-regarded prospect Sebastian Cossa from the AHL.

Lalonde also confirmed that Alex Lyon would not be making the road trip, which further necessitated Cossa's call up from the Griffins.

The road trip also includes a clash against the rival Ottawa Senators before returning home on Saturday.
