Detroit Red Wings prospects Marco Kasper, Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, and Noah Dower Nilsson have been making headlines with their recent performances.

At the same time, a familiar name emerged during the SHL preseason action.
Marco Kasper's Olympic dreams ended as Austria was eliminated from the qualifying tournament after losses to Slovakia and Kazakhstan, despite his goal against Slovakia. The 2022 eighth-overall pick remains a key figure in Detroit's future. Meanwhile, Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, the 2024 15th overall pick, has been representing Norway in the same tournament. After a two-goal performance against Japan, he was held without a point in Norway's win over Great Britain. His offensive talent continues to shine on the international stage.
Back in Sweden, Noah Dower Nilsson, the Detroit Red Wings' 2023 third-round pick, marked his return from dual shoulder surgeries with an empty-net goal in Frölunda's SHL preseason victory. His added muscle and determination suggest a promising season ahead. Additionally, Herman Liv, son of former Detroit Red Wings draft pick Stefan Liv, made his SHL debut for Örebro in a preseason game, continuing his father's legacy and adding an emotional chapter to Detroit's history.
