The Detroit Red Wings were battling the Philadelphia Flyers at Little Caesars Arena during last night's game, but there was a captivating battle taking place in the stands that has since gone viral on social media.
A unruly fan was shirtless after getting into some kind of altercation with another fan that caused multiple security guards to make their way down the stairs toward the first few rows of seats on the glass where the incident was taking place.
A security guard grabbed onto one of the unruly fans in question and slammed him against the glass as if they were on the opposite end of it on the ice, while the shirtless fan began making his way up the stairs.
It was at that point that the shirtless fan knocked over another security guard, who tumbled down at least two rows of seats.
All of this took place while the play between the Red Wings and Flyers was ongoing.
Afterward, Derek Lalonde said that not only did the incident catch his attention, but the benches of both teams as well as the on-ice officials.
Additionally, Patrick Kane, who scored the game-winning goal in the 3rd period, expressed a desire to see the fan fight on video replay.
There have been countless examples of unruly behavior of fans at sporting events, typically fueled by too much alcohol and an overinflated sense of toughness and ego.
And now, Little Caesars Arena has been added to the list of locations that have gone viral for fan fights.
