Detroit Red Wings captain, Dylan Larkin, response to criticism from head coach, Todd McLellan.

Following Friday's evening practice at the Ohio Stadium, Larkin addressed McLellan's criticism levelled by him after a dismal performance.
This past Thursday, the team's head coach described #71 as 'missing', leading him to be demoted to third-line during their 5-2 loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

For more information:
The captain agreed with his coach's perspective, claiming he hasn't been thrilled with his abilities as of late.
«I understand why he said it and probably would have said it myself if I'd spoken to you guys after the game,»
Larkin stated.
«I wasn't happy, haven't been thrilled with how I've been playing, but the team has been winning. We've been playing well and going through some stuff right now to feel 100%. I think I'll be there, but I understand why he said it and I think I hold myself to a higher standard and I wasn't happy with myself after that game.»

Despite the 28-year-old claiming they are 'going through some stuff right now to feel 100%', this performance is unacceptable for the Red Wings at such a crucial time in the season.
The Detroit Red Wings and the Columbus Blue Jackets are in a race for a playoff spot, with the two teams being tied with 66 points.
And with both teams competing in the NHL Stadium Series Saturday, we should hope that the captain and the rest of the team are at 100%, as the stakes continue to rise.
Do you think the Detroit Red Wings can pull out the win?
