Detroit Red Wings rookie defenseman Albert Johansson was thrilled to score his 1st National Hockey League goal in last night's win over the Blackhawks in Detroit.

Not only did the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Chicago Blackhawks at Little Caesars Arena last night, but rookie defenseman Albert Johansson enjoyed a moment that he'll remember the rest of his life.

He sniped his 1st NHL goal, capitalizing on a terrific pass from teammate and fellow Swede Lucas Raymond to beat former Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek at the side of the net.

Johansson not only was thrilled to score the goal, but also praised Raymond for the incredible setup.

I will remember that one forever. Unreal pass by Lucas.

McLellan also singled out the young rookie for his accomplishment, noting his growing confidence.

Over and above the goal itself, he had really good instincts to go to that hole, but I just think he's been playing better over nine periods now - every period has gotten better for him. Confidence is growing. He's doing exactly what he needs to do so that we understand him as a player and feel good about him.

"So, goal, great; confidence, even better.

Johansson, who has been playing with former Grand Rapids Griffins teammate Simon Edvinsson, feels the chemistry between him and his other fellow Swede is only growing.

Since Todd came in, I've been playing with Simon, and I know Simon really good since GR (Grand Rapids). I think we kept our chemistry from GR to here. Last couple games have been good and really fun.
