Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot wasn't able to replicate his strong performance against the Cats and was pulled against the Bolts.

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot was the player of the game in his team's 5-2 win over the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers earlier this week.

Unfortunately; that magic ran out tonight at Amalie Arena against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Talbot's night is over after allowing five goals to the Bolts, and he hit the showers.

Alex Lyon is back in goal for the first time since January 7.

The Lightning were the recipient of a lucky bounce in front of the net, resulting in their very 1st shot of the game hitting the back of the net. Brayden Point banged in the rebound that smacked off the boards past Talbot, who came well out to challenge the initial shot.

Ironically, Point didn't play in Tampa Bay's last game as punishment for being late for a team meeting.

Talbot then conceded goals from Jake Guentzel, Nikita Kucherov, and Mitchell Chaffee before giving way to Alex Lyon for the start of the 3rd period.

To add insult to injury, the Red Wings peppered Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy with 41 shots; he allowed only Lucas Raymond's power play goal in the 2nd period; the Lightning only had 22 total shots.
