Red Wings legend set to be the focus of new documentary
Former Red Wing player Steve Wochy will be the focus on a new NHL documentary that will take a ook at his life and career.
Wochy just celebrated his 101st Birthday and is the only player in NHL history to make it to 100.
The former Wing played with many NHL greats such as Gordie Howe, Johnny Bower and Jacques Plante.
«I played with a lot of good players,» Wochy recalled. «I played with Gordie Howe, I played with Johnny Bower for four years (in the AHL with Cleveland) and I had a chance to play with Jacques Plante in Buffalo (also in the AHL).»
While his career saw a dip after 1945 due to so many players returning from the War, Wochy continued to play in the AHL where he led the entire league in goals with 37 in 1951-52.
