Steve Yzerman's best move as a GM did not revolve around a player

Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman has made a lot of great move for Detroit over his time as GM but it seems that his best move does not involve a player.
Yzerman hired Dan Watson to be the head coach of the Grand Rapids Griffins last off-season which has been an incredible move.
Watson helped the Griffins reach the playoffs this year for the first time since 2019 finishing with a 37-23-12 record on the season.
The Griffins ended up losing in the second round the Admirals which was still a great accomplishment for a team that hasn't been in the playoffs in years.
The Griffins new head coach also helped young prospects develop this season as he gave them plenty of opportunities in the AHL despite their young age.
