Anaheim Ducks' Trevor Zegras officially suspended by NHL Department of Player Safety following a vicious hit on Michael Rasmussen

During Sunday's matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks, Ducks forward Zegras delivered a vicious blow to the head of Rasmussen of the Red Wings, which would ultimately lead to the exit of the Red Wings forward from the game.
Zegras on the other hand, receives zero discipline from the in-game referees, not even a 2-minute penalty.
But just 12 hours later, the NHL announced that Zegras would have a hearing for his actions.

On Monday afternoon the NHL came to the conclusion of punishment for Trevor Zegras

The NHL has suspended Trevor Zegras for three games.
NHL PR issued the following statement:
Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras has been suspended for three games, without pay, for interference against Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen during NHL Game No. 908 in Detroit on Sunday, Feb. 23, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 17:17 of the second period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Zegras will forfeit $89,843.76. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Zegras' suspension would have been much longer, but he escaped a lengthy punishment due from his 'clean' history in the NHL.
