Top 3 prospects primed for the next contract with the Detroit Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings are stacked with promising prospects, many of whom have yet to sign contracts. Typically, prospects outside the first draft round wait a year or two before securing deals. While some have already joined the Grand Rapids Griffins, others await their turn. Several prospects deserve contracts sooner rather than later.
In recent seasons, the Red Wings have signed numerous prospects, including Carter Mazur, Amadeus Lombardi, William Wallinder, and Nate Danielson after the 2022-23 season, and Axel Sandin-Pellikka, Emmitt Finnie, Shai Buium, Carter Gylander, and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard after 2023-24. These signings indicate the team's intent to accelerate their rebuild.
However, there are still many capable prospects deserving of entry-level contracts. Trey Augustine, with his stellar performances at Michigan State and in international play, is a top contender. Red Savage, known for his deceptive skills and transition play, also stands out. Dmitri Buchelnikov, an offensive powerhouse in Russia's KHL, rounds out the trio of promising talents poised for contracts.
