Steve Yzerman has a lot of cap space this summer which means they should be able to get something done with Raymond this summer, the Wings currently have $26.5 million in free cap space.
Detroit has a cap space for the 2024-25 NHL season of $26.5 million so they do have the cash to pay him. However, they do have other players in need of being signed and they may still want to grab a free agent or two to upgrade the roster. - Jelinek
If the Wings are able to sign Raymond, it will be around $7 million per year for 5 years which would be a great deal as he is constantly improving.
