Once again, the Red Wings failed to pick up 2 points against the Philadelphia Flyers in the City of Brotherly Love, and a concerning statistic once again resurfaced.

There's just something about playing against the Philadelphia Flyers on the road that doesn't agree with the Detroit Red Wings.

They've won a total of two games there since the start of 1997-98, and were already beaten there once this year. Ben Chiarot had the only goal for the Red Wings in their 4-1 loss in December.

Tonight, Chiarot once again scored Detroit's only goal in what was a 2-1 overtime loss to the Flyers. Rasmus Ristolainen is currently being credited with the game-winner; the puck sat just below the goal line after Alex Lyon poke-checked Owen Tippett before being banged in:

The Flyers' winning-goal came just seconds after Patrick Kane was unable to get a clean shot on goaltender Samuel Ersson on a partial breakaway from in close.

The Red Wings managed to outshoot the Flyers during the contest, but yet again, their lack of offense while not on the power play doomed them.

Detroit has been one of the NHL's worst scoring clubs during 5v5 play, and that resurfaced yet again against the Flyers. In fact, the Red Wings never even had the chance to put their strong power play to work tonight, as the Flyers were called for zero penalties.

The Red Wings are now set to return home after their 4-game road trip that started well thanks to their 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers; they earned only 1 of a possible 6 points from that point on.

They're still 5 points back in the Eastern Conference playoff race for the last Wild Card berth, and need to start stringing together wins.

Do the Red Wings need to make a trade to secure more offensive firepower?
