Three RFA that could receive an offer sheet this summer
As the Stanley Cup Playoffs advance into the second round, we are gradually beginning to look at the upcoming 2024 offseason. From trade speculations and free agency, many rumors begin to see the surface. So here's the RFA's that are worth noticing :
Anton Lundell, Florida Panthers
Known for his defensive side, Lundell has emerged as a key forward for the Panthers. At just 22, he brings a good 200 foot game on the ice, which impressed fans and critics during the season. With several pending free agents on the roster, including some big names like Sam Reinhart and Brandon Montour, the Panthers face tough decisions this offseason. Lundell is expected to seek around $3.5 million per season.
Cole Perfetti, Winnipeg Jets
This season was a challenging one for Perfetti and the Jets. Despite being a top-10 pick, he struggled to secure consistent playing time and even found himself as a healthy scratch. With limited cap space available, 13.4 million to be exact, negotiations with Perfetti could be very tricky. The 22-year-old forward tallied 19 goals and 38 points in 71 games during the regular season, showcasing his potential despite the difficulties he was facing.
Jeremy Swayman, Boston Bruins
Swayman has been a standout performer for the Bruins, especially during the current playoffs, solidifying his status as one of the league top goalies. While the Bruins will probably match any offer sheet he could receive, there's always a chance for surprises, as seen with Kotkaniemi with the Montreal Canadiens. Swayman next contract is expected to be around $5 million per year, potentially leading to draft pick compensation for interested teams. Despite efforts to move Linus Ullmark, the Bruins are committed to retaining Swayman for the long term.
