Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin scored twice in the Red Wings 5-2 win over the Panthers, giving them 8 wins in their last 10; he explains what's exciting about their return to their winning ways.

Things are exciting for the Detroit Red Wings once again, as they now have 8 wins in their last 10 games.

They kicked off their 4-game road trip with a 5-2 win over the divisional foe Florida Panthers last night, who also happen to be the defending Stanley Cup champions.

It also broke a streak of Florida that saw them go 12-0-1 in their previous 13 games against the Red Wings.

Head coach Todd McLellan expressed excitement before the game about the chance to see how the Red Wings would respond from their 6-3 stinker of a loss to the lowly San Jose Sharks in Detroit on Tuesday night, and they demonstrated that his message is getting through to them.

Meanwhile, captain Dylan Larkin, who scored twice in the win over Florida, issued a few words of caution for his teammates despite their newfound success.

You look at the San Jose game, we were overly confident, and anyone can beat anyone in this league on any given night, and tonight was a great challenge, a great reset for our group and we answered that challenge. Yes, we're building confidence as a team and individual players, which is great to see. But we still have a long way to go, and that's the exciting part.

We're starting to play harder. Guys are adapting to the new coaching staff. We're trying to impress.
