Does a Red Wing have a shot at the NHL game cover?
The last time a Red Wings player has graced the cover of the NHL video game was in 1996 when Steve Yzerman and Scott Stevens were on the cover.
Since then, not a single Red Wing has been on the cover which is strange to think with al the legends that have been in Detroit over the last 20 years. Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk and Nikolas Lidstrom are all NHL legend but never received the honor.
Looking at the future, their are a few Red Wing options that EA sports could use for their cover picture, captain Dylan Larkin in one option but is not as popular with the young fans which is why he is not the number one pick. The best bets out of Detroit to make the cover is either Moritz Seider or Lucas Raymond as they are both young superstars with bright futures in the NHL.
It will be interesting to see if any Red Wing player every make the cover again ass it has been 28 years since it happened last and that player is now GM of the Red Wings.
