The Red Wings are back on the ice tonight against the divisional foe Tampa Bay Lightning, but they need more production out of former 1st round pick Joe Veleno.

The Detroit Red Wings are back on the ice tonight against the divisional foe Tampa Bay Lightning (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).

The unfortunate injury news for the Red Wings is that Patrick Kane will be unable to play for the 2nd consecutive game; he suffered an upper-body injury in last week's loss to the Dallas Stars.

The Red Wings have re-called towering forward Elmer Soderblom from the Grand Rapids Griffins; he played in Thursday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, a 4-2 Detroit win.

He'll be back in the lineup tonight against the Lightning, while Christian Fischer continues his return to action.

However, one forward that needs to get it going offensively is Joe Veleno. Despite his brief bump in production after coach Todd McLellan was brought aboard, he's since gone pointless in the last 7-straight games.

He last scored in Detroit's 3-2 overtime win over the division foe Ottawa Senators on January 7.
