Here's what Yzerman wants to do with his first round pick
Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman is set on keeping the team's 15th overall pick in the upcoming NHL draft.
While he stays open to trade, Yzerman says that he is reluctant to move the first-round selection. Yzerman knows that Detroit has needs in certain depth position across his line up but reminded the importance of drafting a player who can contribute to the NHL roster.
He showed some flexibility in their draft strategy by not ruling out selecting a defenseman despite organizational depth in that area. Yzerman aims for a pick that will be a valuable addition to the Red Wings line up, underscoring the importance of making a strategic and impactful choice.
