The amazing trend that the Detroit Red Wings have developed under new head coach Todd McLellan continued in tonight's 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets, their 4th in a row!

What a difference that new head coach Todd McLellan has made for the Detroit Red Wings since taking over the position on December 26 from Derek Lalonde.

The Red Wings have now won 4 straight games with McLellan behind the bench, with the latest coming in a venue they hadn't won since 2022.

Detroit defeated the Central Division-leading Winnipeg Jets 4-2 on their home ice tonight at Canada Life Centre thanks to a pair of goals from captain Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond and Alex DeBrincat.

And for the 5th consecutive game, the Red Wings outshot their opponent; the streak also includes McLellan's inaugural game behind the Detroit bench, a 5-2 loss to the divisional foe Toronto Maple Leafs.

Under Lalonde, the Red Wings were routinely outplayed and outhustled; they also were routinely slow to begin games and often didn't begin competing until the score was out of hand.

During tonight's game, the Red Wings jumped out to a 17-6 advantage in shots and finished with a 29-23 advantage.

Following a 4-game losing skid, GM Steve Yzerman made the change from Lalonde to McLellan, and it's paid off so far.

The Red Wings are now just a pair of points in the standings behind the Ottawa Senators for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Ironically, their next game takes place against the Senators at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
