There have been varied opinions on this chant, which has been a routine part of non-Lions Detroit sporting events in the last several months.

It's a great time to be a sports fan in Detroit right now.

The Detroit Lions repeated as NFC North champions and are considered one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl, and can advance to the NFC Championship game if they beat the Washington Commanders on Sunday at Ford Field.

Additionally, the Detroit Red Wings are back on track with 8 wins in their last 10 games since the hiring of Todd McLellan, while the Pistons are vastly improved under new coach J.B. Bickerstaff and are flirting with a postseason position.

And we certainly can't forget the magical run of the Detroit Tigers, who became the 1st MLB team since the early 1970s to earn a postseason spot after being 8 games below the .500 mark at the beginning of August.

But there's been a chant in recent games at non-Lions sporting events that has fans divided.

Fans have routinely began chanting the name of Lions quarterback Jared Goff during Red Wings and Pistons games at Little Caesars Arena; the chant has also been heard during both Michigan and Michigan State basketball games, as well as Grand Rapids Griffins games.

The chant made an appearance during last night's 5-2 win by the Red Wings in Florida:

There are fans who enjoy getting in on the trend, while there are others who would rather keep the Goff chants specifically at Lions games.
