Steve Yzerman has a lot of work ahead of him this summer as the team has a solid amount of cap space and is looking to improve the lineup for next season.

It seems there is a few players that previously played in Detroit that might be returning.

One player is Tyler Bertuzzi as his 1 year contract with the Leafs in now done and he will be a UFA July 1st. Bertuzzi could be a great signing for the Wings as he is a physical player which they have been in need of since he left while he can also put the puck in the net.

Anthony Mantha is another option as he had his best years in Detroit and since being traded has struggled immensely even finding himself being healthy scratched in Washington and Vegas.

The Wings might take a look at Dominik Kubalik who also had his best years in Detroit and has since struggled in Ottawa. Due to his recent struggles, the Wings might be able to land Kubalik at a cheap price which would be a great move.

When it comes to goaltending, the Wings have struggled with this all season long and with Alex Nedeljkovic becoming a free agent, he might be a solid option to look at. Nedeljkovic had a great year in Pittsburgh with a 18-7-7 record and a 2.97 goals against average.

While there are more former Wings set to become UFAs this summer, this seem to be real options for Yzerman to have return to Detroit for next season.
