The Walleye's impressive 22-game winning streak came to an end on Friday night when the Mavericks secured a 3-2 victory in Toledo.
Former Michigan State goalie John Lethemon, under a two-way contract with the Red Wings, was in net for Game 1. Lethemon made 19 saves on 22 shots.

Game 2 is set for tonight in Toledo at 7:15 p.m. If the Walleye keep their goalie rotation, Jan Bednar, the 2020 Red Wings draft pick on a Grand Rapids Griffins contract, will start.
