The 19-year-old center who stands at six foot two 187 lbs, was drafted by the red wings in the first round in 2023 ninth overall. The team quickly signed him to an entry level deal of three years at $950,000 per season and is currently playing for the Portland WinterHawks of the WHL.
According to eliteprospects.com Danielson is a creator of rush off at and he likes to charge to the neutral zone with possession and powerful skating ability and the ability to turn corners against opposite defenseman.
He began his year with the Brandon Wheat Kings and play 26 games, scoring 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points and was a + 6. However, he was then moved to the Portland winter Hawks where he played his remaining 28 games producing 12 goals with 29 assists for 41 points and had a + 20.
Danielson's team is currently playing in the WHL championship where the WinterHawks are playing against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Moose Jaw has an early 1-0 lead in the series as they won game one 3-2.
It's likely with his frame that he will be able fill out and become a great centre for the Red Wings. Though likely to start on the wing with the team, it remains to be seen on how head coach Derek Lalonde would deploy him during training camp.
Only time will tell on weather he will be part of the Red Wings next season or back with the winter Hawks.
