The Detroit Red Wings were missing several players from last night's 5-2 win over the Kings at Little Caesars Arena, and head coach Todd McLellan has the latest on their health.

The good news for the Detroit Red Wings is that they secured their 3rd straight victory last night, 5-2 over the Los Angeles Kings at Little Caesars Arena.

The Red Wings swept their 3-game home stand before they head out onto the road for a critical road swing.

However, they had to play without Patrick Kane, who remains sidelined with an upper body injury that he suffered in last week's loss to the Dallas Stars. Additionally, J.T. Compher was absent after he was hit by Tampa's Emil Lilleberg on Saturday night.

As if that weren't enough, Vladimir Tarasenko missed last night's game with an illness. Neither Compher or Tarasenko skated today, while Kane skated on his own.

According to head coach Todd McLellan, Tarasenko remains under the weather while Compher's status still appears bleak.

Vladdy's still not feeling good, not an injury or anything like that. Patty, I think he skated a little bit today, so that's a real good sign. J.T. didn't and Petry had a full practice, so it will depend on how he feels tomorrow.

As far as the status of Dominik Shine is concerned, McLellan said the plan is to take the 29 year old with them on the road trip in the wake of his 1st career NHL game.

Right now, the plan is to bring Dominik along. We haven't seen Vladdy for two days, so I don't know what he's going to feel like or what type of energy level he has. The plan right now is to have Dominik there, his 1st game wasn't the path back to Grand Rapids, that's for sure. He had a real good night.

Shine was re-called by the Red Wings from Grand Rapids for his 1st NHL game after years of playing in the American Hockey League, and it was a dream come true for the Michigan native who grew up a Red Wings fan.
