Deep in the bowels of Munn Arena, you can often find Detroit Red Wings goalie prospect Trey Augustine shuffling around like a curmudgeonly old-timer.

Despite his young age, his teammates have given him the affectionate nickname "Gramps" due to his distinctive, slow-paced walk and reserved demeanor. Red Savage, a Michigan State Spartans teammate and fellow Red Wings prospect, shared a glimpse into Trey's unique character:
"We call him Gramps sometimes because he's always waddling around the rink. It's hard to get a lot out of him sometimes."

Trey's quiet nature doesn't diminish his presence or impact on the team. His strong, steady presence on the ice speaks volumes about his dedication and potential. While he might not be the most vocal in the locker room, his work ethic and performance communicate his commitment to the game. This intriguing blend of youthful talent and an old-soul demeanor makes Trey Augustine a standout prospect, both for the Detroit Red Wings and the Michigan State Spartans, capturing the respect and curiosity of those around him.
