3 potential buyouts the Red Wings could go after
There are a few players set to be bought out of their contract this summer in which the Red Wings could look at signing.
For forwards, Jeff Skinner is set to be bought out by the Sabres on July 1st and will be a free agent for next season. Despite his production taking a hit this year, Skinner might be a great addition for the Wings at a cheap price.
It terms of goaltending there is a few options, the Wings could go after John Gibson who will be a free agent once the Ducks buy him out and would be a great back up goaltender. Gibson has had a great career in the NHL and has proven that he can still play despite being at the end of his career.
Another option in nets that is a bit riskier is Jack Campbell, the Oilers will likely buy him out of his contract as he has been a big disappointment since signing it but he might be worth taking a risk on at a very low price. Campbell has proven he can play in the NHL despite the last two seasons going poorly for him.
