Wings are questioning if Walman is a top pairing defenseman
Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman took a big step this past season as he was a crucial part of Detroit's blue line.
Walman is currently playing above his paid grade as he is currently making $3.4 Million per season which is a great contract for what he delivers for Detroit.
The young defenseman has proven he can be an impact in the NHL but has yet to prove if he can be a consistent top pairing defenseman.
The Red Wings will likely give Walman a bigger offensive role next season as he proved he has a scoring touch as he notched 12 goals and 21 points this season.
