A look at Compher's first season with the Red Wings
The Red Wings signed JT Compher last off-season to a 5 year $25.5 million contract in hopes that he will be big part of the organization's future.
Compher has a solid first season with the team as he had a career high in goals with 19 put fell 4 points shy of his career high in points with 48 which he did in 77 games.
While the Wings hope that the 29 year-old's production will increase next season, GM Steve Yzerman mentioned how the biggest part of Compher's game is his defensive awareness.
Compher had a solid season overall but spoke to reporters mentioned how he wants to do even better, especially if the Red Wings want to be a top team in the years to come.
"Personally, you always want more. You always want to do more, especially when a season ends like that...For this team to go farther, I need to be better. I think a lot of guys feel that way."
