Chris Pronger still harbours bitterness towards Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman, from an incident during the 2002 Stanley Cup playoffs.

In Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals, while Chris Pronger was playing for the St. Louis Blues, he suffered a torn ACL after a collision with Steve Yzerman. As Chris Pronger moved in to deliver a hit, Steve Yzerman ducked, causing Chris Pronger to flip over him and sustain the injury that would keep him sidelined for nearly a year.
Reflecting on the event during a recent Cam And Strick podcast appearance, Chris Pronger recalled how he had Steve Yzerman "lined up" before the Detroit Red Wings' captain ducked low to avoid the hit. Steve Yzerman explained that he was trying to get out of the way, leading to the unfortunate injury.
Although Steve Yzerman later called Chris Pronger to apologize, Chris Pronger remains somewhat disgruntled, acknowledging that while the injury wasn't intentional, Steve Yzerman's decision to go low played a role in the unfortunate outcome.
Despite having a chance for revenge when the two met again in 2003, Chris Pronger ultimately chose not to retaliate, recognizing that Steve Yzerman was dealing with his knee issues.
