For the second straight game, the Detroit Red Wings overcame what was a difficult call from the on-ice officials and earned not one but two points in the standings, helping to improve their standing in the highly contested Atlantic Division.
Lucas Raymond remained red-hot by scoring once again, giving him four goals in as many games.
He had been racking up points as nearly a point-per-game player, but hadn't been scoring at his usual pace. But now, Raymond and the Red Wings are back to and improved position in the standings,
According to Raymond, the keywas all about doing the right thing.
Alex DeBrincat broke the ice early the first first period as he took a pass at the side of the net from Michael Rasmussen and beat goaltender Dan Vladar, giving the Flames the early 1-0 lad.
However, a strong performance once again from Cam Talbot combined with timely goal-scoring equaled.
After a late-game tying coal from Calgary's Connor Zary, the Flames were whistled for a too-many-men-on-the-ice infraction in overtime, and the Red Wings made sure that they paid for it.
Making his return to the net after one game, Talbot continued to impress in the early goings of his tenure with the Red Wings.
The Red Wings return to the ice tomorrow afternoon against the visiting New Jersey Devils at Little Caesars Arena.
