Despite the upcoming training camp, Detroit Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde remains unconcerned about the status of restricted free agents (RFAs) Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider.

Lalonde, speaking to The Detroit Free Press, emphasized that contract negotiations are part of the process and not a cause for worry.

"I'm not worried," Derek Lalonde said. "I've had a little experience with this in the past with RFAs. It's all part of the process."

While general manager Steve Yzerman handles the negotiations, Derek Lalonde has kept in touch with both players, focusing on their development rather than contract details.

Lucas Raymond, drafted fourth overall in 2020, had a standout season last year, recording 31 goals and 41 assists for 72 points. Derek Lalonde praised Lucas Raymond for his off-season work, noting a significant improvement in his athleticism and overall game.

Seider, selected sixth overall in 2019, also had a solid year, finishing with 9 goals and 33 assists for 42 points. Derek Lalonde believes both Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider will play crucial leadership roles alongside new acquisitions like Vladimir Tarasenko and returning Patrick Kane.

With the Red Wings aiming to end their playoff drought, Derek Lalonde is confident that Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider will be key contributors. The team opens the 2024-25 season at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 10.
