Nate Danielson to play with the Wings soon?
Nate Danielson, Detroit Red Wings 2023 top draft pick, showcased significant potential during the 2023-24 NHL season lead-up.
At 18, he stayed in contention for a roster spot until the final cut, demonstrating belief in his abilities.
Reflecting on his experience, Danielson said:
«It was a good experience for me just kind of knowing, making that jump to pro next year and just kind of knowing the speed of the game,»
«Obviously everyone's older and bigger and heavier and stronger.»
Despite returning to junior, he had an outstanding season with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Portland Winterhawks in the WHL, reaching the league final and representing Canada at the World Juniors. He also played two AHL playoff games with the Grand Rapids Griffins, gaining valuable experience.
Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman emphasized that young prospects must make significant strides to secure NHL spots. Danielson's confidence has grown, with Dan Cleary, Red Wings' director of player development, praising his dedication and professionalism. With his impressive showing and continued development, Danielson is a player to watch in the 2024 preseason.
