NHL analyst Mike Rupp has major ask of Red Wings' Dylan Larkin for 2026 Olympics

NHL analyst Mike Rupp believes that Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin should be part of the leadership group for the American team in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin was one of a pair of players from Detroit selected to participate in the 4 Nations Faceoff; the other being Lucas Raymond.
Larkin and the Americans advanced to the title game, where they fell short in overtime to Canada in Boston. But earlier in the 4 Nations Faceoff games, Larkin scored the game winning goal in the first American matchup against Canada in Montreal.
And despite falling short in the title game, Larkin's performance overall caught the eye of former Stanley Cup champion and current analyst Mike Rupp.
Larkin will almost certainly be included on the American roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics, and in Rupp's mind, Larkin should be wearing a letter on his sweater as one of the assistant captains.
I think Dylan Larkin should have a letter on his jersey come Olympics next year.
Rupp also gushed over Larkin's performance during Detroit's game against the Wild on Saturday in Detroit.

When Larkin scored the winning goal against Canada, he later said it will go down as one of the best experiences of his career.
That was one of the best experiences of my life. Just an unbelievable hockey game. The Tkachuk brothers and Millsy, what a start, and credit to those guys for answering the bell. And the crowd, just a great night for our sport and a great night for this rivalry.
